Wrinkle treatment through injection of hyaluronic acid and fillers

Hyaluronic acid

It is a natural component of the connective tissue of the skin and is also found in many other body tissues, such as cartilage, synovial fluid, and the vitreous humor of the eye. Because it is a naturally occurring substance in the body, it is very well tolerated.

Hyaluronic acid binds water, thus providing the skin with plenty of moisture and ensuring tissue firmness and vitality. Over time, the natural production of hyaluronic acid decreases, and the skin loses elasticity and support. Therefore, hyaluronic acid must be injected externally to fill and soften facial lines, wrinkles, or contour defects.

Which regions can be treated?

  • Nasolabial folds - nasolabial furrow

  • Marionette lines (Merkel lines)

  • Cheek wrinkles

  • Fine wrinkles - Refreshing with skin booster

  • Lip wrinkles

  • earlobes

  • Neck

  • Decolette

How is the filler applied?

This is done either with fine injection needles or with blunt microcannulas. The latter can be thought of as a miniature keyhole technique. Because of this very fine cannula, which is rounded and blunt at the front, it is an extremely tissue-sparing method with low potential for side effects.

How long does the effect last?

Experience shows that the degradation process is faster with the initial treatment than with subsequent treatments. The initial treatment usually lasts between 6 and 10 months, and afterward, it's usually considerably longer. The desire for fuller lips and the habituation often lead to premature touch-ups. However, with the number of lip augmentations performed, the interval between treatments may become longer. Remodeling processes in the connective tissue can sometimes lead to a permanent result.

How painful is the treatment?

Alternatively, an anesthetic cream can be applied if desired, which is effective and the pain remains very minimal.

Are there any risks or side effects?

The first thing to note is the swelling. This usually subsides within 24 to 48 hours. In some cases, however, it can last longer (3-5 days). However, this should rarely occur with a gentle treatment technique and moderate volume administration. If significant swelling occurs immediately after treatment, the lip can be cooled locally with an ice pack, thus controlling the swelling. Bruising is rare with a gentle treatment technique and optimal preparation (no blood-thinning medication). The hyaluronic gel is applied relatively superficially, so small, soft nodules (or lumps) may occasionally appear inside (in the non-visible area of the lips). These can usually be massaged away or treated with other methods. Follow-up and aftercare

We always recommend a follow-up appointment after an initial treatment. Should follow-up treatment be necessary, there will be no additional charge.

No work stoppage necessary

Since swelling after treatment is usually very moderate, you should be able to socialize and return to work the next day. Depending on the course of treatment, technique, and tissue, swelling may persist for several days. If swelling is severe, you should avoid exercise and saunas.

Preparation

Please come without makeup if possible. It is also important that you do not take any blood-thinning medication for 10 days prior to your treatment. However, if this is not possible for medical reasons, please continue taking it and inform us.
