Expression lines, which are caused by repeated and involuntary contraction of the muscles between the eyebrows, are often referred to as "frown lines." These lines are usually so-called concentration lines, which develop from reading from early childhood, watching television, and using a computer. During these activities that require eye strain, the eyebrows are unconsciously pulled "protectively" over the eyes. Due to the aging-related loss of skin elasticity, this repeated contraction can lead to visible, deep wrinkles between the brows, so that these wrinkles are then noticeable even when the face is relaxed. This can negatively influence the overall facial expression, creating a sad, angry, or even tired impression.

Facial wrinkles are a typical sign of aging and can be seen in varying degrees. So-called dynamic or expression lines are the result of active muscle movement in the face. These include laugh lines or crow's feet around the eyes, "thinking lines" on the forehead, or the deep frown lines (glabella lines) between the eyebrows, which many people develop as a result of years of concentrated facial expressions. These wrinkles can be reduced or even completely eliminated with botulinum toxin.

Its effect targets the cause of expression lines. Through targeted injections directly into the overactive muscles, this medication relaxes tense muscles for a period of approximately three to six months. The result is a smoothing of the wrinkles. With proper treatment, the natural facial expression is preserved.

For treatment, tiny doses of botulinum are injected directly into the muscles that cause the wrinkles between the eyebrows using a minimally invasive procedure.

The result is muscle relaxation with a smoothing effect between the eyebrows. By reducing the activity of individual facial muscles, the formation of new wrinkles is simultaneously reduced.
